"Jodie embodies what a Therapist should be and is the best one I've seen. Her trauma-informed and neurodiverse affirmative insights, understanding, knowledge, skills and approach helped me navigate and begin to recover and heal from complex trauma through EMDR, at the same time as guiding and supporting me through diagnoses others had missed and not even considered or looked into with the same expertise. I now have a better understanding of myself and perhaps why certain things have gone the way they have in my life. I feel much more validated and empowered in who I am, increasingly unmasking and showing up as my true self in a world. I am in a much better place than I was a year ago, now with more relevant and appropriate tools in place to prevent relapses, or at the very least be more likely to effectively and successfully navigate them if they occur. This is all thanks to Jodie."

"Hi Jodie, thank you for all your support over the last two years. It will be strange not coming to sessions anymore, but as you said, 'I am ready and can trust my own ability to manage things now.'

I wouldn’t have the tools I have today had it not been for you, but more transformational was the genuine care I felt from you and the space in which I felt unconditionally held.

I now know I don’t have to tolerate people treating me poorly. I am open to trusting others again, with evidence. Abuse has no place in my life anymore."

EMDR Intensive Testimonials

Client Testimonial 1

My husband and I would like to offer our feedback regarding the intensive one-day EMDR therapy that you conducted.

I would strongly recommend it to anyone who has experienced trauma. My husband found the one-day intensive session incredibly powerful and felt that it helped him resolve his trauma by the end of the session. It is worth noting that, prior to the intensive session, there were several initial sessions to gather the relevant details and prepare for the work, followed by a follow-up session to review progress.

Firstly, we cannot thank you enough for being our guardian angel. You entered our lives at the perfect moment, when I felt as though my world was falling apart, watching my husband sink into severe depression as his trauma returned after five years.

That was when I suggested to his private doctor that EMDR therapy might help, and he referred us to you. Below is a brief account of his experience, which I hope may help others who are facing similar challenges.

Five years ago, following a routine medical procedure, my husband experienced a series of traumatic incidents involving what he felt was inadequate care. From an insensitive procedure performed by a doctor to being discharged without clear instructions for managing his condition, the entire experience was overwhelming and left him traumatised. Despite receiving further medical attention, including mental health support, the trauma persisted and continued to affect his wellbeing.

In 2024, when similar health issues resurfaced, he began to spiral into depression, fearing a repeat of what had happened in the past. He kept the severity of his condition hidden and avoided discussing it until I confronted him with my concerns. It was then that we sought further medical help, and I suggested EMDR therapy as a potential treatment.

After a referral from his doctor, we contacted you. I emailed you and, despite your very busy schedule, you responded promptly and clearly outlined your availability and timescales. From the beginning, you were incredibly kind and sympathetic.

My husband’s first session was face-to-face, as he struggled to concentrate on Zoom. He was very anxious because his previous counselling experiences had not been positive, and he requested that I be present in the room with him. You were incredibly understanding and allowed me to support him throughout the session.

My husband immediately connected with you, Jodie, as you are genuinely kind, caring and sympathetic. After that, he attended all subsequent Zoom sessions independently. During these sessions, you would suggest ways forward, and I always encouraged him to follow your advice and put your suggestions into practice. We understood that therapy works best as a collaborative process, with both the client and therapist actively involved in the work.

After several one-to-one sessions, and once you had gathered all the relevant information, you agreed that he was ready for the intensive one-day session.

My husband found it intense and emotional to confront his trauma, but it was also incredibly powerful. Afterwards, he felt genuinely happy, as though a massive weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He felt like himself again and no longer had the same fear around facing future medical health issues.

If anyone is reading this feedback, I apologise for the length, but it is entirely factual and reflects our experience. My husband and I would strongly recommend intensive EMDR sessions to anyone who feels they may benefit from this approach.

Client Testimonial 2

I have found EMDR intensives to be an effective way to process my trauma. I have benefited from intensive EMDR days because we have been able to process significantly more than we would have been able to across individual sessions over a much longer period.

For anybody starting EMDR, I would recommend considering an intensive day because of the uninterrupted and significant progress that can be made within one day.

I found it more efficient and felt it avoided having to hold partially processed trauma for long periods between sessions. I also value the way we work together as a team, with both of us focused on the therapeutic work.

It feels like an effective way to approach difficult memories because you have the sustained support and attention of the therapist, without the same concern about being left alone with difficult memories between sessions.

Client Testimonial 3

I have been seeing Jodie for several years now and recently came in for a six-hour EMDR intensive. It was admittedly very daunting to walk into, especially on a Sunday, but in true Jodie fashion, it was an incredibly safe, meaningful and deeply enlightening experience.

We were able to efficiently address several aspects of my trauma that had impacted my experiences for decades, while maintaining a pace that was comfortable for me.

I was able to take breaks whenever necessary, and the space was comfortable, relaxed and unassuming.

Lastly, and importantly for me, Jodie brought in her lovely dog, Izzy, who was able to provide both comfort and a sense of release, while also helping to lighten the mood when needed.
